NCAA D1 Men's Pre-NCAA Championships Top 20Published by
Northern Arizona On Pace To Win Third Straight By Adam Schneider of DyeStat Top-ranked Northern Arizona continued its unbeaten streak with a 42-56 victory over second-ranked BYU at the NCAA Division 1 Mountain Region championships. Meanwhile, Portland showed it will challenge again for a top spot with its 77-82 victory over Washington in a very competitive West Regional. Stanford was fourth at the West Region championships, but the Pac-12 champions indicated they have a chance to trophy at the NCAA championships. Wisconsin ran as a pack at the Great Lakes Regional and still won the title. The Badgers will host the NCAA championships Saturday and hope to use home-turf advantage to get them to an NCAA trophy. Senior Morgan McDonald should be among the leaders trying to win the individual title. Washington (West Region runner-up), Colorado (third at the Mountain Region), Iowa State (Midwest Region winners), and Boise State (third at the West Region) will also challenge for trophy spots.
