NCAA D2 Results

Men - Vincent Kiprop of Missouri Southern uses last hill to pull in front of defending championAlfred Chelanga of Shorter and win title. Grand Valley State makes a big push to overtake Adams State with 2k to go, 47 to 61. Adams State closes in last 1000m to win 54 to 79 over Grand Valley State. Colorado Mines 3rd with 153 and Chico State was fourth with 166 are the other two trophy teams. Top 10 completed with Alaska Anchorage 5th with 222, Western State 6th with 235, Missouri Southern in 7th with 283, Cal Poly Pomona 8th with 311, CSU Pueblo 9th with 322 and Saginaw Valley 10th with 330. 

Women - Senior Kendra Foley of Grand Valley State takes the lead with 2000m to go and dominates the competition to win over 6000m at 20:01.8. Junior Alexis Zeis of U-Mary finishes 2nd in 20:26.4 Through 3k Adams State has the lead but Grand Valley State passes them and keeps the lead to the finish to win 116-139. Western State is third with 168 and Chico State is fourth with 189. To close out the top 10 - fifth is Southern Indiana with 209, 6th is Simon Fraser with 210, 7th is U-Mary with 217, 8th is Alaska Anchorage with 259, 9th is Cal Baptist with 274 and 10th is Minnesota-Deluth with 284. 

D1 Results

Women - With 1000m to go Anna Rohrer drives up the hill to take the lead but Erin Finn of Michigan chases her down to take the lead early in the straightaway and Missouri's Karissa Schweitzer finally chases her down at the finish for the title. Oregon had the team lead at the last split but Colorado was closing fast. Oregon women (125) beat Michigan (126) and Colorado (134) (it looks like top runner Erin Clark my have had a physical problem that dropped her to 133rd). Oregon top 3 made it happen with Katie Rainsberger (4th), Alli Cash (14th), and Samantha Nadel (21st) leading the Ducks. 

 

Men - Patrick Tiernan of Villanova, Justyn Knight and Edward Cheserek are all together and then when Tiernan makes a move with 3000m to go only Knight can stay with him. Tiernan runs away for the title. Northern Arizona beats Stanford 125 to 158 for the team title. Defending champion Syracuse finishes third with 164 and Mississippi is fourth with 196. To complete the top 10, Arkansas was fifth with 206, Colorado 6th with 223, BYU seventh with 247, Wisconsin 8th with 256, Oregon 9th with 282, and Iona was 10th with 319.

 

D3 Results -

 

Women - Amy Regan of Stevens Institute dominates to defend her national title 6000m and finishes in 20:16.4 ahead of Audrey Miller of Loras in 20:31.3. Johns Hopkins (128)  takes the team title over Washington U (202). SUNY Geneseo (214) and Williams (232) earned trophies. Finishing the top 10 were MIT (234) in fifth, Wisconsin-La Crosse (272) in 6th, Oneonta (299) in 7th, Tufts (320) in 8th, Calvin (347) in 9th, and Hope (376) in 10th.

 

Men - Ian LaMere of Wisconsin Platteville repeats over 8000m in 23:40.4 ahead of Ernie Pitone of Widener in 24:09.0. North Central dominated the team championships with 60 ahead of SUNY Geneseo with 204. To close out trophies Wisconsin-Eau Claire scored 209 and Washington U had 216. The rest of the top ten were Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in fifth with 251, Wisconsin-La Crosse was sixth with 295, MIT in seventh with 301, Johns Hopkins was 8th with 316, Williams was ninth with 330, and Loras was 10th with 352.
