DI Regional Cross Country Rankings: 2012 Week #4Courtesy: Tom Lewis, USTFCCCA October 1, 2012 NEW ORLEANS – A heavy weekend of competition has yielded several changes to the USTFCCCA Regional Rankings for NCAA Division I cross country. The regional rankers from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) have moved women’s teams Cornell (Northeast), William and Mary (Southeast), and Arizona (West) to No. 1 spots. In addition, Eastern Kentucky’s men are now the new top team in the Southeast region. Top women’s teams by region: Michigan (Great Lakes), Georgetown (Mid-Atlantic), Iowa State (Midwest), Weber State (Mountain), Cornell (Northeast), Florida State (South), Arkansas (South Central), William and Mary (Southeast), Arizona (West). New to the regional rankings for the first time this year: MEN – Temple (Mid-Atlantic), Nebraska (Midwest), Marist (Northeast), UMass (Northeast), UC Irvine (West); WOMEN – Lehigh (Mid-Atlantic), Quinnipiac (Northeast), UC Santa Barabara (West). NCAA Division I Regional Championships will be held on Friday, November 9. NCAA DI Regional Championships Central. USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning team strength with current-season results in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.
