NCAA alters race schedule on eve of D1 XC Champs

By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

In an effort to avoid forecast rain Saturday, the NCAA on Friday evening announced a significant schedule shift to its national championships at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.

The women's race will now go off at 9 a.m. Eastern (6 a.m. Pacific) and the men will go at 10 a.m. Eastern.

According to weather.com, the changes might not prevent the races from being wet. It is supposed to rain overnight and potential thunderstorms could begin as early as 9 a.m. But in moving up the schedule, the event will be over before the heaviest of the wind and rain hits around 1 p.m.
