CU Buffs men's cross country wins NCAA championships in come-from-behind race - The Denver PostPublished by
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The University of Colorado men's cross country team won its fourth national title in school history on Saturday, seven years after its last title in 2007 and beating out top-ranked Northern Arizona by 20 points. The Buffs, ranked third in the coaches poll headed into the race, got out to a slow start on a course pounded by heavy winds and cold — conditions fairly typical at this November meet. They were 10th as a team 3,000 meters into the race before moving up to third overall at 5K, then second around 8K into the 10K course. CU last won a national championship in men's cross country in 2006. The title is the Buffs' sixth overall cross country title between men and women under Coach Mark Wetmore.
